Last updated: July 9, 2026Agreement to TermsBy accessing or using CarHistory, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the service.
The ServiceCarHistory provides vehicle history reports generated from a VIN by aggregating records from third-party data providers. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the service and to use the reports you purchase for your own personal or business vehicle-buying and selling decisions.
• You may not resell, redistribute, or republish reports in bulk• You may not scrape, harvest, or systematically extract our data• You may not attempt to decompile or reverse engineer the service• You may not remove any copyright or proprietary notations
User AccountsWhen you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for all activities that occur under your account.
Payments, Credits & RefundsReports are purchased using credits. Credits are bought in packages, are non-transferable, and one credit is redeemed each time you generate a report. If we are unable to return any history data for a VIN you request, that credit is automatically refunded to your balance — you are never charged for an empty report. Except where required by law, purchased credits are otherwise non-refundable once a report has been successfully generated.
Reports, Data & AccuracyVehicle history reports are compiled from third-party sources and are provided for informational purposes only. While we work to present accurate and complete information, we do not warrant that any report is exhaustive or error-free — not all events are reported to our data sources. A report is not a substitute for a professional inspection and should not be your sole basis for a purchase decision.
Prohibited UsesYou may not use CarHistory to:
• Violate any laws or regulations• Infringe upon the rights of others• Distribute spam, malware, or harmful content• Harass, abuse, or harm other users• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service• Impersonate any person or entity
Intellectual PropertyThe service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of CarHistory and its licensors. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.
Data SourcesCarHistory is an independent service. Vehicle history reports are compiled from insurance, salvage, title, auction, service, and motor-vehicle records drawn from multiple national databases. Records are reported to these databases by third parties, so a report reflects only what has been reported and is not guaranteed to be complete. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
TerminationWe may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease.
Limitation of LiabilityIn no event shall CarHistory, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses.
DisclaimerYour use of the service is at your sole risk. The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
Governing LawThese terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Changes to TermsWe reserve the right to modify or replace these terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
